Snake, with juice

The prompt
Make the most satisfying game of Snake you can. The game is trivial — the feel is the test.
Build
- A 24×24 grid on canvas, arrow keys + WASD, snake moves on a fixed tick that speeds up as it grows.
- Food spawns at random free cells; eating grows the snake by one and bumps the score.
- Death on hitting a wall or yourself → game-over screen with score, best score this session, and "press space to restart".
- Now the juice — this is the part being judged:
- the snake renders with rounded joints and a distinct head that leans into its move direction, not raw squares;
- a quick particle burst and a score pop where food is eaten;
- screen shake and a flash on death;
- food idles with a gentle pulse so your eye finds it;
- each speed-up is announced with a short synthesized tick (WebAudio API, no audio files) or a clear visual beat.
- Pause on "P". A minimal HUD shows score and speed level during play.
What separates great from passable
- Input feels instant — direction changes are buffered so a fast double-tap into a 180° turn doesn't kill you.
- No visual glitches at high speed.
- Restarting takes one key, not a click hunt.
